Qld: Two heads appointed to school bodies
An historian and a playwright have been appointed to chair two major Queensland school bodies.
China expert and historian Professor COLIN MACKERRAS will chair the Queensland School
Curriculum Council.
University of Queensland Associate Professor RICHARD FOTHERINGHAM will chair the Board
of Secondary School Studies.
Education Minister DEAN WELLS says both men will serve from February 1, 2001, to January
31, 2002.
Professor MACKERRAS says he's keen to give more weight to history in Queensland schools.
